Intravenous 2 is a masterclass in top-down stealth and action and it easily has some of the most impressive enemy AI I've ever seen in a game.
The levels are incredibly well done. You have so much freedom to tackle situations however you want—crawling through vents, cutting the power at the circuit breaker, sneaking in during broad daylight or just going in guns blazing. The level design really supports both slow, methodical stealth and pure, chaotic gunfights.
But the real star of the show is the AI.
It genuinely feels like you are playing against real, observant humans. They don't just mindlessly walk in circles; they actually pay attention to their environment. If you leave a door open that was closed before, they get suspicious. If they notice a guard is missing from their regular patrol route, they start searching. If you flip a light switch off, they will go out of their way to turn it back on.
The most terrifying (and coolest) part is how they handle combat in the dark. If you manage to slip into the shadows or shoot out the lights during a firefight, they don't just stand there confused—they will actually blind-fire into the darkness right at your last known location. It keeps you constantly on your toes and forces you to completely rethink your positioning.
Overall it's genuinely fun, deeply immersive tactical game that makes you earn every single victory. Whether you want to ghost through a level like Splinter Cell or shoot it out like Hotline Miami, it's an absolute blast.
