Extremely deep mechanics and its story is interesting. I love the turn based gameplay with massive armies. Steep learning curve, but rewarding. Only one major design flaw in it's achievement system gating quite a few achievements behind Core difficulty (without changing difficulties at all) yet defaulting to Normal difficulty when starting the game on first run. (They are right next to each other, on a 6 tier option list, I would've swapped no problem had I known) I found this out after Act 1 and so will need to replay quite a bit, disappointing from an otherwise great game.
