Judgement: Not Recommended

Eldest Souls fails at the one thing that actually makes souls games good, and that's clarity. Wind up attacks for bosses can be really hard to gauge especially when your small character gets locked in to a charged attack animation and you can't dodge until it's too late, but furthermore because the skill tree produces so many particle effects that I can barely see what's going on in the boss fight anyways. With the right build you can face roll on the keyboard and win every fight thanks to health regeneration by striking, but the devs thought it would be a good idea to include achievements where your forced to restart the entire fight if you take damage once.

Build variety is also pretty lacking, every tree will always perform the exact same inputs and your base moveset never gets upgraded leading to an even worse aspect of souls-like games, not giving you enough freedom to play the way you want.

It looks great, but don't be suckered in by the game's siren call, this is far from the quality a "Souls" game should have.
