Judgement: Not Recommended

View review on Steam

Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse is a delightful point-and-click adventure. Playing as the duo George Stobbart and Nico Collard, you’re drawn into a gripping mystery involving a stolen painting, a murder, and a conspiracy older than the written word.

The story is engaging, offering a compelling mix of history, conspiracy, and humor. The hand-drawn art style is gorgeous and perfectly captures the series’ classic European charm.

The puzzles can be extremely difficult and quickly become frustrating due to the lack of hints and the slow pace of interactions in the game.

Some achievements are completely hidden and missable, with almost no clues for finding them naturally. You’ll likely need a guide or walkthrough, otherwise you may never discover them on your own.

If you love classic point-and-click adventures, this is an recommendation. However, based on my personal experience and feelings while playing, it’s hard for me to fully recommend it to people I know.

5/10
