A beautiful but miserable story with some gameplay elements. It moves at a glacial pace and is not in a hurry to tell the plot, but at the same time seems to skip huge chunks of it whenever it feels like it. I suppose it makes it more realistic as there wasn't really that much to do in twelvth century England, but boy does it make parts of it difficult to chew through.

The characters were interesting and I ended up rooting for most of the cast, but some of their decisions were not explored/explained very well. It's just "and then I decided to do this" without much prelude, usually after a time skip. I don't know if it's because it's a book adaptation or because they had to cut out parts that weren't suitable for gameplay, but it ends up feeling disjointed at parts.

And even though most of what I said wasn't very positive, I still ended up intrigued enough to go through it, as I wanted to know how the story would turn out, and I suppose that's what the story should really make people want to do.
