Songbird Symphony is a game that mixes so many genres, like side-scrolling platformer, rhythm, Metroidvania, exploration, and puzzle adventure.

You are in the world of various types of birds, and also you play as a little bird.

The art style is pixelated and colourful. The birds' design is cute and likable.

The main focus of the game is to explore and to unfold the story of the main character. The story is decent and a bit emotional at times. You will do rhythm-based challenges along the journey. There are some lightweight puzzles.

All the interactions are text-based. Music is good. Overall, I liked the tracks; they felt samey to an extent, though.

The rhythm-based challenges require expert-level button pressing in terms of speed and accuracy (it's quite improbable to get a perfect score). I don't know how it passed the playtesting. But these challenges do not break the progress, and thankfully there are no achievements related to that. You can try to master these challenges, but I would suggest against doing so, since it's not worth it.

I played it with a controller. You may try playing with a keyboard to get good scores on rhythm challenges.

There are some collectibles that encourage exploration. No maps though. And a fast-travelling mechanism is not optimal. So, you may have to do some back-and-forth to get optional achievements. Overall, they are easy to get. It took me around 8 hours to complete the game with 100% achievements.

If you want to relax a bit and want to play a game with a cute art style, you may give this a try.
