Judgement: Not Recommended

The unique economy system does make this game an interesting take on the 4x genre, but it suffers from extreme slowness and repetitiveness.

Every single game is the same multiple-hour-long process of building the exact same buildings in the exact same order until you have enough troops to take down the enemy. All of this happens at a tediously slow pace that, mixed with the game's many frustrating features, such as losing all control of your army when they're being attacked and not being able to rotate buildings, makes this game significantly more annoying than fun. You'd get the same amount of enjoyment from watching an ant hill.

There's also an "HD" version that doesn't change the graphics but rather speeds up the game and zooms the camera out to dizzying heights. However, by "speeds up the game," I don't mean "rebalances the economy allowing you to progress through phases of the game faster." I mean that it literally makes everything 2x as fast, which makes combat much more difficult, and all the animations look like ♥♥♥♥.

To top it all off, the game is infested with bugs, crashes quite frequently, and has no autosave, meaning you can easily lose hours of progress.

2 serfs out of 10.
