If the "horror" tag is keeping you from playing this game, give it a try nonetheless. It's true that there are some scary events underlined by the hollow music but you will not suddenly feel like closing the game and feel like you'll spend a whole week having nightmares. It might be related to the Pixel Art but while it does manage to give you goose bumps if you're easily scared like my, it will never terrify you.
