Judgement: Not Recommended

  • Morlan's shorts:
The first negative review for this game: Why? Because it's way too short for its price and way too grindy for its content. The positives are: Cute pixely graphics, leves of a fair variety with some thought put into them, good gameplay choices regarding the action/attack/damage. For example some enemies will freeze momentarily and you can wipe them out without even moving provided you have good damage, which you buy with gold. And that is the problem for me with the game. To gather enough gold for the second to last and the last level, you will have to grind some levels (or just a boss level) quite a few times. And it's not a game you enjoy any type of grinding because the new levels and the adventur-y part of the game is what keeps you going as they're not randomized and you know exactly when the enemy appears, so going back to them is a chore.
Also you will probably have to almost maximise pretty much all of the attack skills to pass the 2nd to last level. Not really a case of "develop your own unique build" like the description says. The limited variety of the meanies, of which there are about 10 or so, I think, isn't helping in replayability.
All in all, it's not a bad game, I had some fun. I wouldn't recommend it blindly though and the reviewing system in steam is crappy so I can't "neutral" recommend it. Knowing what you get into.. make your choice.
Last plus: the music is really nice for such an indie title. At 1.00 credit (of your favourite currency, I'd recommend, but at 4.00 (fine so it's 3.99), you have to choose.

Don't waste more time reading lengthy reviews.. time is of the essence!
