For a tycoon game this game is ridiculously complex in its mechanics. Despite the game revolving around railroads, its pretty flexible with how you can go about earning money and achieving the victory conditions. If you want to play wide and try connecting all the cities you can do that.
If you want to have a business focus you can control supply line chains by purchasing various production and refining facilities. In my last game I bought an iron mine to get raw materials, a munitions factory to convert iron ore to ammo, and then delivered the finished products to an army barracks that paid top dollar.
Do you wanna watch your opponents share price plummet due to bad management, and then when they're on the brink of failure, take everything they own via a hostile takeover? You can do that too!
